We've come across a small collection of 1880-S MS-65 Morgan dollars in older ANACS slabs. Not only are they in older slabs which many collectors prefer, but these special coins also feature proof-like obverses and lovely rainbow toning.
In 1880, the Morgan dollar was the only silver coin struck by the then-new San Francisco Mint. Consequently, special care was lavished on the production of these coins. The 1880-S is often singled out as one of the most beautifully struck Morgan dollars in the series, which makes it an ideal addition to any collection, especially in higher quality.
Founded by the American Numismatics Association in 1972, ANACS began authenticating and grading to help weed out counterfeits and altered coins that were plaguing the market.
