You could be just the second collector to own one of these silver dollars in 133 years! We’ve sourced a small cache of 1888 Morgans from a single owner who purchased them in the original Philadelphia Mint bag. We have a limited number of these special coins and we're selling at less than our retail price for regular Brilliant Uncirculated quality. Once they're gone, they're gone!
Morgan mintages peaked in the late 1880s, when the Philadelphia Mint was churning out about 20 million big 90% silver dollars per year. Does that mean that these early dates are the most common Morgans today in Brilliant Uncirculated quality? No, far from it! Vast numbers were held in storage and later melted down during the world wars. Today just 3% of the 1888 no-mintmark Morgan silver dollar’s original mintage is estimated to remain in mint-state quality.
You could pay more for some earlier Morgan issues thought to be up to eight times as plentiful in BU quality! These Brilliant Uncirculated quality coins have nice original luster and no sign of wear. Some bag marks are present, as is normal. Mint bag not included.
