Product Description
Copper was a critical metal for munitions in WWII which led the Treasury to issue steel cents in 1943. Their different weight caused problems in coin machines and were replaced in 1944 with copper retrieved from bullet casings and artillery shells. This 1943-S issue has been replated with zinc to match the original look.
