1986 Prestige Proof Set. This 7-coin 1986 prestige proof set includes the enormously popular Statue of Liberty silver dollar and copper-nickel half dollar proofs. The silver dollar presents Lady Liberty in New York Harbor with Ellis Island in the background. On the reverse side is Liberty's Torch of Freedom. Also included in superlative proof form are the date's regular issue cent, nickel, dime, quarter and half dollar. The 1986 Prestige set's mintage of 599,317 was just a quarter of the clad proof set's output.
1988 Prestige Proof Set. In 1988, over 1.3 million individual Olympic Torches silver dollars were sold and 3 million regular 5-coin proof sets. But only 231,661 Prestige proof sets were issued, containing all six proof coins. That's fewer than 8% of that year's regular proof set mintage!
