A Lincoln cent and Jefferson nickel complete each set. In addition to the precious metal content, silver proof set mintages are always far below the annual clad set's output making them highly desirable to collectors. Considered key dates, just 549,878 and 605,473 silver proof sets were produced respectively in 1995 and 1997; they held the lowest outputs until 2012.
