Product Description
1886-O New Orleans Morgan Silver Dollar, Very Fine. In 1886, the New Orleans Mint struck nothing but Morgan silver dollars. But relatively few seem to have been kept in storage or a phenomenally high proportion was lost in later melts. Today the 1886-O is genuinely rare in mint-state quality, with even average BUs retailing for about $2,700! In the Very Fine quality we offer or higher grades, as few as 1% of its original mintage are estimated to exist.
1899-O New Orleans Morgan Silver Dollar, Very Fine. This New Orleans Mint issue costs the least of 1899 Morgans today, yet it's still relatively scarce. A much larger supply of some early O-Mint Morgan dates survives.
1901-O New Orleans Morgan Silver Dollar, Very Fine. The 1901-O New Orleans Mint Morgan silver dollar emerged in the year when President William McKinley was fatally shot by an anarchist at Buffalo ... his successor Theodore Roosevelt pushed forward a plan to build a canal across the Isthmus of Panama ... the Spindletop gusher at Beaumont was the first big Texas oil strike ... and J.P. Morgan capitalized the new United States Steel Corporation at $1.2 billion. The 1901-O is the most affordable issue for this date. Very Fine quality.
