For many years most U.S. mint sets contained ten distinct issues and proof sets had five. By 2005, with the introduction of Statehood quarters, Westward Journey nickels and Sacagawea dollars, these sets had expanded to 22 and 11 coins respectively. The 2005 San Francisco Mint proof set includes the usual issues plus a Sacagawea dollar and both the Bison and the Ocean nickel designs from the Westward Journey Nickel Series. A second holder contains statehood quarters from California, Minnesota, Oregon, Kansas and West Virginia. Both Philadelphia and Denver Brilliant Uncirculated issues of those coins are included in the 2005 mint set, making it a big 22-coin set in four cellophane packets.
