Product Description
1879-CC Morgan Silver Dollar XF — In only the second year of the series, just 756,000 Morgans were output for commerce by Carson City in 1879. In today's world, that translates to a very small number of specimens that survive in mint-state quality – their scarcity commands a premium: in 2023 an MS-66+ grade sold at auction for $192,000! While most collector's pockets aren't that deep, the silver lining is that this CC issue is (by comparison) reasonably affordable in our lightly circulated Extra Fine quality.
1891-CC Morgan Silver Dollar XF — Carson City operated near the famous Comstock Lode, and as the smallest branch mint struck just 2% of all Morgans. In the 13 decades since the legendary mint's 1891 output of 1.6 million silver dollars, a scant 4% is estimated to remain in mint-state condition today. Average BU specimens retail for four figures, making these sharply detailed Extra Fine Morgans an excellent alternative option for collectors.
