Product Description
1887-P Morgan Silver Dollar Brilliant Uncirculated: The 1887 Philadelphia (no mintmark) Morgan silver dollar was struck as mintages were peaking in this popular series. More than 20 million silver dollars were struck at the principal mint that year. A vast number of these silver dollars were held in storage at the Treasury, and later melted down during the two world wars. Compared to other dates, a relatively small proportion was saved for the last Treasury releases of the early 1960s. Our Brilliant Uncirculated quality has nice original luster and no sign of wear (some bag marks are present, as is normal).
1889-P Morgan Silver Dollar Brilliant Uncirculated: Just 2% of this historic issue may survive in mint-state quality today. No other U.S. Morgan dollar was so affected by government melts during the world wars. Our Brilliant Uncirculated specimens boast the same luster as when newly released in 1889 by the principal (no-mintmark) Philadelphia Mint. And they show absolutely no wear (some bag marks will be present, as is normal).
