Product Description
The 1892-1916 Liberty Head silver dime shared its obverse engraving with the quarters and half dollars of the day. The agricultural wreath reverse is unique to this denomination.
The beloved Liberty Head design was created by U.S. Mint Chief Engraver Charles E. Barber and is considered his masterpiece. Because it was planned for the dime, quarter and half dollar, he spent five years in preparing the engraving. After numerous patterns were considered, Barber's final design won great acclaim. It's regarded as the most perfect classical U.S. coin design and was the last engraving to appear on three separate U.S. denominations.
