1899-O Micro Mintmark Morgan Silver Dollar Very Fine to Extra Fine

This 1899-O Micro variety has a tiny mintmark on the reverse that is noticeably smaller than the standard used on other New Orleans Morgan dollars. It has been speculated that the mintmark punch was from a Liberty Head quarter or half dollar of the time. The mintage for the entire 1899-O was just over 12 million and it is not known how many carry the micro mintmark. Uncirculated issues of this variety are quite scarce and sell for five figures when they can be found.
