Product Description
1922-S Peace Silver Dollar BU: After the Philadelphia Mint introduced the Peace silver dollar late in 1921, the famous San Francisco branch mint released its first issue in 1922. The Peace dollar was to be the last silver dollar type struck for U.S. commerce by the Granite Lady, which had been one of the few public buildings to survive the 1906 San Francisco earthquake intact. The 1922-S issue is by far the scarcest for that date in our Brilliant Uncirculated quality.
1926-S Peace Silver Dollar BU: While this classic 1926-S Peace silver dollar may be long in the tooth, she's certainly well preserved for her age – in this Brilliant Uncirculated condition, she still looks as nice as the day she was minted so very long ago! In the mid-1920s, Peace dollar production fell significantly as the quota set by Congress neared. By 1926, San Francisco's output of just 6.9 million Peace dollars was a drastic reduction – about 40% less – than its first 1922 mintage.
