Product Description
The 1923-S Buffalo nickel is one of the major rarities in the popular series with a mintage of just 6,142,000. In 2013 an MS-66 specimen sold at auction for $67,563! Even in circulated condition this issue can be a tough find — experts estimate that as few as 9,000 San Francisco examples may survive across all grades. And while Philadelphia struck over 35 million Buffalo nickels that same year, mint-state specimens are also hard to come by, putting added pressure on remaining circulated pieces. Although our affordable Good quality specimens certainly pulled their weight in commerce, each retains major design elements with readable dates and mint designation.
