Product Description
1923-S Peace Silver Dollar Extra Fine. Compared to Morgan dollars, many (but not all!) Peace issues tend to be more affordable – even though 70% fewer were minted! Of the 19 million struck by San Francisco in 1923, it's estimated that as few as 0.2% (one in 500!) of the original output may exist in mint-state quality today – at a recent auction a 1923-S MS-66 specimen sold for almost $50,000...these Extra Fine 90% silver dollars are an exceptional bargain by comparison!
1926-S Peace Silver Dollar Extra Fine. In the mid-1920s, Peace dollar production fell significantly as the quota set by Congress neared. By 1926, San Francisco's output of just 6.9 million Peace silver dollars was a drastic reduction – about 40% less – than its first year 1922 mintage. Now, almost a century after they were first struck, as little as 1% of 1926's original business strikes may be extant in mint-state condition. Average BU specimens sell for $285, but you'll save when you opt for lightly circulated, sharply detailed Extra Fine condition.
