Product Description
"Declining Mintage" 1926-D Denver Peace Silver Dollar. By 1926 Peace dollar mintages were diminishing as the limit imposed by Congress drew near. That year Denver issued only 2.3 million silver dollars which was less than 5% of the earlier peak mintage. As few as 7% may survive in the nicely detailed Very Fine quality we are offering or higher grades.
"Series Revival" 1934-D Denver Peace Silver Dollar. No silver dollars were issued from 1929 to 1933 during the Depression. In 1934, as part of FDR's economic recovery plan the U.S. Treasury was required to purchase bullion and produce silver dollars. The 1934 Peace issues had a relatively limited production and only a small portion of those coins are thought to remain; it's estimated that only about 7% of Denver's 1934 mintage exists today in a collectible state. Very Fine quality.
