This superlative half dollar is often regarded as America's finest and most beautiful silver coin design. Over 30 years of issue, this historic half dollar ushered Americans through not one, but two world wars, the Great Depression and on into the Cold War era. In the aftermath of the stock market crash, no half dollars were struck from 1930 to 1932. Output was once again resumed in 1933, but only by the San Francisco facility, resulting in a final mintage of just 1,786,000 Walkers. Almost a century later, only a fraction of that original mintage survives in collectible condition. Well-traveled Good quality.
