Product Description
We've put together this very special offer for a select group of ICC customers, including you. Not only do you get sale prices on four classic U.S. proof sets produced during the Kennedy administration, but we'll also throw in a FREE STORAGE BOX when you purchase the full collection!
End of the Silver Era: These sets were struck exclusively by the principal Philadelphia Mint in the twilight of 90% silver circulation coins. They were among America's last regular proof sets to include silver dimes, quarters and half dollars.
Low Production: The 1960 proof set emerged in the dramatic year of the Kennedy-Nixon presidential election, which JFK won by a razor-thin margin with his vision of a New Frontier. The 1960 set is especially coveted today for its scarcity. Its total mintage of just 1,691,602 was the lowest of any standard U.S. proof set for the next generation!
Misleading Mintage Numbers: As U.S. proof sets grew more popular, the 1961 to 1963 set's outputs reached up to 3.2 million. But fewer of these early proof sets remain intact than their mintage numbers suggests. In later years, a good number were broken up to obtain sought-after individual Franklin silver half dollar proofs which were issued only as part of these sets.
