Product Description
1969 Proof Set. Only 2.9 million proof sets were issued by the U.S. Mint in 1969; the second lowest output of the decade. Struck by the San Francisco Mint, this finest-quality proof set contained all five U.S. denominations for the date: cent, nickel, dime, quarter and 40% silver Kennedy half dollar.
1969 Mint Set. Boasting twice the number of coins and a lower mintage than the proof set, the mint set of 1969 contains beautiful specimens of the coins issued for circulation that year, including a 40% silver JFK half — all in Brilliant Uncirculated quality.
These would be the last proof and mint sets to contain 40% silver Kennedy half dollars; the following year, the Mint transitioned to copper-nickel clad coinage.
