In 1975, the U.S. Mint issued no quarter, half dollar and dollar coins for circulation. In anticipation of the Bicentennial the following year, the six-coin 1975 proof set and 12-coin 1975 mint set included special preview specimens of the copper-nickel Drummer Boy quarter, Independence Hall half dollar and Liberty Bell dollar, all with unique dual dates of 1776-1976.
