Product Description
1991 USO Silver Dollar BU: This silver dollar honors the 50th anniversary of the United Service Organizations' inception. Founded in 1941, the private, nonprofit organization provides social and recreational services to past and present members of the military. Two and a half times more specimens were output in proof quality; while less than 125,000 were issued in this much more scarce Brilliant Uncirculated format.
2012 Star-Spangled Banner Silver Dollar BU: In 2012, the U.S. Mint struck just 41,686 Brilliant Uncirculated Star-Spangled Banner silver dollars, which was only a fraction of its proof counterpart's output of 169,000. The lovely coin shows Lady Liberty waving the original Star-Spangled Banner, a 15-star, 15-stripe flag that flew at Fort McHenry during the War of 1812's Battle of Baltimore. The famous poem written about the flag formed the basis of the United States' national anthem, The Star-Spangled Banner.
