This Brilliant Uncirculated half dollar was struck by the U.S. Mint to raise funds for the construction of a visitor center under the famed Capitol Building. The copper-nickel coin commemorates the bicentennial of the first Congressional gathering in the new structure. The obverse depicts in detail the original north wing as Congress would have seen it in 1800, against the silhouette of its future architecture. Original packaging.
