Product Description
The big 10-coin 2002 proof set contains superlative cent, nickel, dime, quarter and half dollar proofs, as well as a Sacagawea dollar, which proved to be short-lived in American commerce. Also included are five quarters from the enormously popular U.S. 50 State quarter series, commemorating Tennessee, Ohio, Louisiana, Indiana, and Mississippi. Struck by the San Francisco Mint, with finest-quality proof minting, the double-struck engravings have an elegant frosted finish that sets them off against brilliant mirror backgrounds. The 20-coin 2002 mint set includes both P & D Brilliant Uncirculated specimens of all circulation coins from the year. Its mintage was just 1,139,388 — the third lowest from 1964 to that date. The set features P & D Kennedy half dollars and Sacagawea dollars, whose circulation mintages are drastically lower than the 2000 and 2001 issues, making the relatively low-mintage 2002 mint set all the more scarce.
