Launched in 2018, the American Innovation series' introductory small dollar features the signature of George Washington from the very first U.S. patent issued in 1790. After 2018, four golden colored dollars will be issued each year until 2032 showcasing innovators or innovations that helped shape our nation from each of the 50 states, District of Columbia and the five U.S. territories. The common obverse design displays the Statue of Liberty and a privy mark of a stylized gear. Coins have edge incused date and mintmarks. Finest quality proof minting.
