Each of the nickels in this five coin set were struck by the Denver Mint which opened in the Mile High City in 1906. The oldest, produced in 1912 was the Liberty Head "V" nickel – it the only one of its type struck by Denver, and the first 5¢ denomination output by a branch mint. Also included in the set is a Buffalo nickel with Denver's mintmark shown under the denomination on the reverse. You'll also receive three Denver-issued Jefferson nickels: a special WWII "emergency" silver nickel identified by its oversized mintmark; a 1964 or earlier type with reverse mintmark, as well as an example struck after 1968 when the mintmark was moved to the obverse. Specimens are in circulated to mint-state condition. Dates of our choice based on availability unless otherwise specified.
