Step into the past with our quartet of iconic small cents, each a testament to America's rich numismatic heritage. The carefully curated, Fine to Very Fine specimens in this set includes an 1857-1858 Flying Eagle cent – the first U.S. penny struck in the now-familiar small size, its high relief design proved difficult to mint and the series was quickly abandoned. You'll receive two Indian Head cents: an 1860-1864 copper-nickel type with oak wreath/shield reverse engraving, colloquially referred to as a "nickel" or "white cent," due to its light appearance; and subsequent 1865-1909 bronze specimen. And last but not least, the collector-favorite first year 1909 VDB Lincoln cent, featuring the original and controversial placement of the designer's initials.
