Northern India's bull and horseman jitals were issued from the 8th to 13th centuries. Even after Islamic conquest, Muslim rulers continued to strike this well-established coin, but over time, the design became more crude and increasingly abstract. The medieval bull and horsman jitals we offer here were struck sometime after 1266. Design may vary from shown.
