Product Description
The Barber (or Liberty Head) silver half dollar was struck at one time or another from 1892 to 1915 by all operating mints. Whether knowingly or unknowingly, the New Orleans Mint would experience its twilight years during this period, producing its final coinage in 1909. From 1892 to 1909, New Orleans' total contribution accounted for just 24% of the entire series' production. Nowadays the half dollar denomination rarely turns up in circulation, but these classic American coins certainly pulled their weight in the commerce of long ago. We'll choose three different 1892-1909 specimens from the Old South mint in Good quality. Each half dollar retains major design elements with readable dates and O-Mint designation. Our choice of dates based on availability.
