The 1972 mint set includes three cents (P, D, S), two nickels (P, D), two dimes (P, D), two quarters (P, D) and two half dollars (P, D) for a total of 11 coins. Its mintage of 2,750,000 was significantly less than that of the 5-coin 1972 proof set, which regularly sells for the same price. To protect their pristine beauty, the hand-selected BU coins are enclosed in transparent plastic holders with an official mint medal of the issuing mints.
