This 90% silver commemorative half dollar features James Madison, the father of the Bill of Rights, drafting the historic document that still protects our freedoms today. His Virginia home, Montpelier, is shown in the background. The reverse displays a hand holding the torch of freedom. This coin was produced in both proof and BU condition but three times as many proof issues were released making this Brilliant Uncirculated specimen a tougher find.
