Product Description
The total mintage of the last Indian Head penny of 1909 was less than 15 million — just a fraction of America's population of the time. Since there were comparatively few to go around in commerce, many Indian Head pennies were worn very heavily. Then most of the remainder were destroyed after recall; relatively few have survived to our day in the well-preserved Fine quality we offer. Our circulated specimens were used in American commerce near the turn of the century.
