Product Description
This curious two cent piece was introduced during the Civil War, after a severe coin shortage developed. It's a great collector favorite today, partly because it was the first coin to carry the inscription In God We Trust. In its short minting span a total of just 46 million were created for American commerce. Abundant laurel surrounds the Union Shield; arrows symbolize weapons of war. On the reverse are sheaves of wheat. Only a tiny fraction has survived to our day, with clear inscription, in the well-preserved Fine quality we offer. Date of our choice.
