These three early O-mintmark Morgan dollar issues have been called among the top buys in the lengthy series. They`re always a hit with our customers. The Philadelphia Mint`s production was far and away higher than the branch mint`s at New Orleans for these dates. Lower-mintage Carson City Mint Morgans for the dates cost far more and San Francisco issues vastly more. Each silver dollar boasts the same luster as the day it was struck at the venerable New Orleans Mint. These silver dollars were intended to help revive the Southern economy after the devastation of the Civil War and the constraints of the Reconstruction Era. The O mintmark appears below the eagle and wreath on the reverse side. Our Brilliant Uncirculated quality has nice original luster and no sign of wear (some bag marks are present, as is normal).
