These Philadelphia Morgans were struck as mintages were peaking in this popular series. During the heyday of the Morgan dollar, silver was pouring out of great Western lodes such as Comstock and Tombstone. The outputs of this trio ranged from 19.9 million to 21.7 million and broke the previous individual records for Morgan production.
But those original mintages are very deceptive in our day, because a vast number were held in storage at the Treasury, and later melted down during the two world wars. In fact, only 3% to 10% of the original productions of these precious silver specimens are estimated to survive today in mint-state quality. Compared to other dates, a relatively small proportion were saved for the last Treasury releases of the early 1960s.
Our Brilliant Uncirculated specimens boast the same luster as when newly released over 13 decades ago by the principal Philadelphia Mint. With our sale you'll pay the same or less for these top notch dollars than you would for our entry level Very Fine quality.
With this deal, we'll not only send you these three big silver treasures in mint-state condition, but we'll also include a FREE trio of Guardhouse Defender silver dollar slab holders. These easy-open cases will help protect your new acquisitions while allowing you to view their beauty.
