When asked what coin started a collector on his or her numismatic journey, many would no doubt say the Lincoln cent. This humble coin was first struck for commerce in 1909 and has been minted ever since — now more than 11 decades! The penny's reverse engraving has been refreshed a number of times, but the original Wheat Ears engraving has remained the most popular. Our set of 40 different Wheat cents consists of mostly 1940s and 1950s dates and is an affordable way to jump into collecting vintage pennies. Circulated quality. Dates and mintmark combinations of our choice.
