Product Description
America's longest silver dollar series was suspended in 1904, and the U.S. Mint destroyed existing hubs six years later. So the revived final 1921 date had to be recreated by the venerable U.S. Mint Chief Engraver. It has a unique look in the series, with generally less relief. Our Brilliant Uncirculated 1921 Morgans have the same glorious luster as the day they emerged from the Philadelphia Mint, where Morgan re-engraved the coin that made his name immortal.
1921-D Denver Morgan Silver Dollar BU. This issue was the only Denver Mint Morgan in the long running series. Morgan dollar outputs had ceased in 1904 but when more were needed in 1921 the coin was revived. Produced at the newest minting facility of the day, Denver's 1921 Morgan carried the only Micro D mintmark ever. Far fewer survive today in BU quality than other 1921 Morgan issues. Our Brilliant Uncirculated quality has nice original luster and no sign of wear.
1921-S San Francisco Morgan Silver Dollar BU. Similar to the 1921-D mint Morgan silver dollar, this 1921-S issue has the unique attribute of a microscopic mintmark. The Morgan series has been put on hold in 1904 and when more coins were authorized in 1921 molds had to be recreated. The Chief Engraver, George T. Morgan's design was similar but did have less relief and smaller mintmarks. Our Brilliant Uncirculated quality has the same impressive luster as the day is was released.
