Specially struck in 1932 to commemorate George Washington's 200th birthday, this quarter proved to be so popular with the American public that it inspired the regular series that continues in a revised form today. Philadelphia output the lion's share of the new quarters in 1932; only 436,800 were struck at the Denver Mint, while San Francisco produced just 408,000. After melts and attrition, only a fraction of these 90% silver nonagenarian specimens survive in collectible condition today. Well preserved Fine quality.
