Product Description
1934-S Peace Silver Dollar: Suspended after its quota was reached in 1928, the Peace dollar series was again briefly revived in 1934 and 1935 during the Great Depression. The San Francisco Mint struck only one million for circulation in 1934, which was merely 2% of the Philadelphia Mint's 1922 output. Today the 1934-S Peace dollar is the scarcest by far for the date. Our nicely detailed Very Fine quality saw limited usage in the Depression years.
1935-S Peace Silver Dollar: With a mintage of just 1.9 million, this final year key output was just a fraction of 1922's peak production. Today just 23,250 – about 1% – of the original output may remain in mint-state condition. As a result, circulated Very Fine quality specimens such as these are in demand. With the end of the series came the end of 90% silver dollars struck for commerce.
