Product Description
FREE REPROCESSED WWII STEEL PENNY — As supplies of copper were diverted to the war effort a new, ghostly-gray Lincoln cent emerged in 1943. These zinc-plated coins were doomed from the start; they wreaked havoc in vending machines and were also prone to corrosion and rust. Huge numbers of 1943 steel cents were produced with the best of intentions, but relatively few avoided circulation and remain today in this guaranteed original, Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Since issue, many 1943 steel cents have been re-plated with zinc-coating, which look much different than a true BU specimen. As an added bonus, we'll also include a reprocessed example completely FREE! Our choice of Philadelphia, Denver or San Francisco specimen based on availability.
