Product Description
1951 Proof Set: In 1951, a mere 57,500 five-coin proof sets were produced by the U.S. Mint. In the seven decades since, no other standard proof set's mintage has been anywhere near as low, but they've been as much as 70 times higher. Some of these sets have been looted for the 1951 Franklin half dollar proof over the years, which leaves an even smaller number of intact sets available for collectors today. Packaging may vary.
1957 Proof Set: For collectors today, the five-coin 1957 proof set remains one of the most affordable issues of the 1950s. Along with the cent and nickel, this vintage set was among the last to include a 90% silver dime, quarter and half dollar. Of the 1.2 million issued, many have since been raided for the Franklin half, leaving fewer intact than mintage numbers would suggest. Packaging may vary.
