Featuring the Endurance, this coin honors the famous explorer, Sir Ernest Shackleton a century after his death. In 1914, Shackleton and crew set sail on the bone-chilling Trans- Antarctic Expedition upon the three-masted ship. She would ultimately be damaged by ice, sinking into the Weddell Sea. While all 27 members of the expedition survived, the whereabouts of the wreck was unknown until her discovery in March 2022!
