The tomb for Mausolus, a 4th century BC ruler of Caira and satrap of the Achaemenid Empire was built on such a grand scale that it became one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Located in the city of Halicarnassus, (now modern-day Turkey), the massive above ground tomb stood a staggering 148 feet tall — nearly the height of the Statue of Liberty, sans pedestal! The obverse of this one ounce .999 fine silver round depicts the elaborate, awe-inspiring structure. A decorative border surrounds an effigy of Mausolus on the reverse. Limited mintage of just 7,777 pieces.
