Built by the Lydians around 550 BCE in dedication to the Greek goddess Artemis, the massive temple was said to be filled with priceless art. Legend has it that Alexander the Great was born on the same day the temple burned to the ground; he is shown on the reverse. Limited mintage of just 7,777 pieces.
