Product Description
Christian Gobrecht's elegant Seated Liberty engraving was used on six different U.S. coin denominations in the 19th century - that's a record. The Liberty personification holds the U.S. shield in one hand and raises the liberty cap aloft with the other, as she seems to gaze westward in the days of an expanding United States. The eagle on the reverse holds a peace branch and arrows of preparedness. We'll choose from the earliest 1839-1866 dates, which do not carry the In God We Trust motto added after the Civil War. Fine quality. Date of our choice.30.6mm
