The elegant Seated Liberty silver quarter shared its obverse design with five other U.S. coin denominations used throughout the 19th century. Holding a shield in one hand and Phrygian cap atop a staff in the other, the allegorical Liberty was derived from earlier Gobrecht engravings modeled off of Britannia, the figure depicted on British coinage. We'll choose an 1866-1891 specimen which bears the motto, IN GOD WE TRUST. Good quality.
