Product Description
In 1883, the new Liberty head nickel featured only a large Roman numeral V for the five cent denomination. Swindlers gold-plated some of those coins and passed them off as $5 gold pieces. The U.S. Mint quickly caught on and revised the reverse design to include the word CENTS. We are offering the second type with the added CENTS in Fine quality. Our choice of 1883-1912 dates.
