Product Description
Since 1992, the U.S. Mint has issued special silver proof sets in addition to regular base-metal proof sets. These sets revived the tradition of 90% silver dimes, quarters and half dollars. The 1999 silver proof set is especially prized because it contains the coveted first five Statehood quarter proofs (Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia and Connecticut) as well as the silver dime and half dollar and the cent, and nickel. Its 804,565 mintage was well below the first 1992 silver proof set's output of 1,009,586.
