Product Description
There probably wasn't a more famous pioneer in American history than Daniel Boone. First issued in 1934, this 90% silver half dollar commemorates the bicentennial of Boone's birth. The popular 50¢ piece would continue to be minted in very limited numbers by the Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco Mints until 1938. The intrepid frontiersman would be credited with blazing a trail from the western boundaries of the original Thirteen Colonies into what is now Kentucky. Shown is a bust of Boone sporting his iconic fringed collar. On the coin's reverse, Boone stands with his once-captor-turned-family-member, Shawnee leader, Blackfish. Our Brilliant Uncirculated specimens feature fantastic detail and luster. Our choice of date and mintmark.
