Peer into the past with this coveted "arrows at date" four-coin Seated Liberty denomination type set.The California Gold Rush flooded the U.S. economy with gold, raising silver's relative value and causing existing silver coins to be hoarded or melted, which left the nation short on small change. The Coinage Act of 1853 solved the crisis by reducing the silver content of the Seated Liberty half dime, dime, quarter, and half dollar. These would be distinguished from previous versions by the addition of arrows on either side of the date. We offer all four denominations in well-traveled Good quality.
