Product Description
When the original eight-tail feather eagle Morgan dollar type ceased to be minted, a limited number of dies were filed down in that area and overprinted with seven tail feathers. But in some cases the eight-tail feather design could still be partially seen beneath the new version. Beginning later in 1878, Morgan issues used new seven-tail feather dies. This first overlapping die error in the series is very popular. Nicely detailed Very Fine quality.
