Product Description
1883 Morgan Silver Dollar XF: Morgan mintages steadily rose in the 1880s due to the plethora of silver found in Western mines. Instead of being released into circulation after striking, a large portion of these 1883 Philadelphia issues were held in reserve and later lost to melts. Experts contend that as little as 3% of the original output may survive in mint-state condition and those specimens sell for nearly $200. Our lightly circulated Extra Fine issues are a great option for budget conscious collectors!
1884 Morgan Silver Dollar XF: Morgan mintages in this period had been substantial, so few 1884 issues needed to enter commerce. Of those held in reserve, vast numbers were later lost in government melts during the 20th century. Fourteen decades later a scant 4% of the original mintage is estimated to survive in XF condition or higher grades.
